About Me & My Work
I am a Western Australian artist working across painting, sculpture, and ceramics. Over four decades I have built a practice grounded in observation of the natural world, exploring light, weather, and place through evolving materials and form. Since graduating from the Canberra School of Art in 1988, my work has been guided by a deep curiosity and sense of respect for country.
My work has been exhibited across regional and state platforms including South West Art Now at Bunbury Regional Art Gallery (2018, 2022), the Bunbury Biennale (2013), and FORMWA (2022). I am a regular participant in Sculpture by the Bay, where I received the Small Sculpture Award in 2023. My paintings and sculptures live in homes and collections around the world, and over the years I’ve been fortunate to build lasting connections with people who return to add new pieces.
For over a decade I have been part of Margaret River Region Open Studios, opening my bushland studio each year to share new work and connect with audiences, collectors, and fellow artists. This annual rhythm has become part of the life of my practice.
My work often begins with small acts of noticing the natural world, like the unique light and atmosphere of a storm rolling in or the way shadows stretch across the ground at the end of the day. In the studio, these moments unfold through many layers of paint, clay, or collected objects. What emerges are works that carry both atmosphere and memory, inviting a sense of stillness and connection. I am currently expanding into larger works and exploring cross-medium collaborations, while remaining grounded in the local landscapes that sustain me. I look forward to sharing this evolving body of work with you, both here and in my studio.
